Please feel free to get in touch with us if you would like to find out more about the project.
Seaton Chamber is currently working closely with Seaton Town Council to plan a beautiful array of festive lights and decorations that will stay in place over the next 10 years. The seasonal display will also include Christmas trees placed in the individual holders above some of the shops.
We’ve faced some challenges along the way – chief of which are the rusted attachments on the town’s buildings and the existing wires attached to street lamps, which are no longer permitted.
Thanks to the collaboration between Seaton Town Council and the Chamber, brand new Christmas lights will replace STC’s old and dwindling collection. The Council is subcontracting a specialist company to handle the installation and will be covering all the costs.
At least seven real Christmas trees will be placed around the town in new holders. Permission has been secured from all the landlords to make this happen. We are also hoping to add even more trees to brighten the festive atmosphere.
Roundabout Power Supply
A new electrical connection is needed for the roundabout to ensure it’s a suitable and safe location for festive lights. The Chamber has been in touch with Western Power and an on-site electrician to arrange the necessary supply. This power source will also allow the roundabout to be used for lighting during year-round events.
We’re aiming for Seaton’s best Christmas display yet. Live bands are being booked, the square’s Christmas tree will be decorated, and there will be a Santa’s grotto, food vendors, and even light projections to bring the magic of the season to life
We hope the experience helps improve community spirit and support local businesses by drawing more visitors to Seaton during the holiday season.
The big switch-on will be happening on 30th November.
